Sounds Visual Music has made a new recording of the super nostalgic yearning of Rachmaninoff’s ‘Vocalise’ – played here on violin.
The haunting melody was originally written for soprano in 1915 – but with no words – just the ‘ah…’ sound. Perhaps no words could do justice to such a beautiful aching melody.
Rachmaninoff left Russia soon after to live in Switzerland and then Beverly Hills California.
