Copyright Licensing & Membership Terms

Sounds Visual Music Ltd. (the Licensor) is the owner of the copyright in all the material in the Sounds Visual Music Production Music & FX Library (the Works). All the music is non-mcps.

An approved member or non-member downloading music from the site (the Licensee) is granted a non-exclusive licence to use the Work(s) on synchronised broadcast productions, Worldwide, in perpetuity (i.e. no time limit)  subject to the conditions set out below. Copyright of the music remains with Sounds Visual Music Ltd. No MCPS is required to dub the music onto your productions.

All productions supplied to broadcasting companies must have attached full credit details of the composer, the track used and the use duration with the obligation of the broadcast company to make the appropriate notifications to the Performing Right Society (if not United Kingdom useage the appropriate overseas PRO – ASCAP, BMI, SOCAN, etc.), by which it is licensed for broadcast of copyright music. Please ensure that where possible the composer or Sounds Visual Music is credited in any programme using the music.

For classical recordings and arrangements of well known tunes, the music is only licensed for countries/territories with a copyright term of author/composer’s life + 70 years OR LESS. E.g. UK & USA. For more information please contact js@soundsvisualmusic.co.uk

No other form of copying or use of the Works is authorised and this licence is limited to the original Licensee. You may not re-sell any of the Works as your own. It is strictly forbidden to re-mix any track and then re-package/distribute/sell as your own derivative “music only” material. The music must be synchronised with another production aspect e.g dubbed onto a film, mixed under a voiceover etc – it is not permitted to use the music as a stand alone product. Copyright of the music remains with Sounds Visual Music Ltd.

The first and primary purpose of usage must be broadcast, if subsequently using the music for distribution in tangible products like CDs and DVDs, there is a limit of 5000 copies. To extend this please contact us for a quote. If you are looking for music to use in solely non-broadcast projects please contact us for a quote.

In summary, the Works do not require a MCPS licence to dub onto you your productions. If the music is to be publicly performed or broadcast, the establishment or broadcasting company must hold a PRS or equivalent PRO licence. Please ensure that the track title and composer name are clearly identified in all music forms for PRS.

Sounds VIsual Music Ltd (the Licensor) is the owner of the copyright in the enclosed audio package. Copyright of the audio remains with the Licensor, you have downloaded a licence to use the audio in your productions.

What you can do with the sounds

You are granted a non-exclusive licence to use the sound effects in the creation of new productions.

What you can not do…

These sounds, loops or samples can not be re-sold, sublicenced, given away, assigned, transmitted, transferred or otherwise made available to third parties except incorporated into a new music production.

You may not make a derivitive product by incorporating or mixing the enclosed sounds with other sounds and sell, license or otherwise make available to third parties as loop, sample or sound effects only products.
